The Majestic Tourist Train, launched by the Indian Railways, takes you on a journey to various tourist destinations in Rajasthan, besides other famous tourist places in India, while offering you the utmost comfort, excellent amenities and outstanding hospitality onboard. The train offers two journeys that cover the most visited tourist attractions of Rajasthan. One is the Royal Rajasthan with Agra and the other is Royal Rajasthan with Mandawa. The destinations covered in these two journeys include Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Agra. Passengers can choose from three kinds of AC coaches, the prices of which differ for Indian and foreign nationals.
The Majestic Tourist Train takes you on a luxury tour to the popular tourist destinations in Rajasthan. The itineraries offered by it have been designed in a way so as to provide you sufficient time to explore each destination at leisure. In The Royal Rajasthan with Agra journey, the destinations covered are Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Delhi. The Royal Rajasthan with Mandawa journey covers Delhi, Mandawa, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Delhi. You will get a chance to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra, Amer Fort in Jaipur, Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, and enjoy sand dune bashing in Jaisalmer.
The Majestic Tourist Train, an initiative of the Indian Railways, offers the Majestic Rajasthan with Taj Mahal tour. Consisting of 4 Nights & 5 Days, it takes you to the most popular tourist attractions in Rajasthan including Jaipur and Jodhpur, besides Delhi and Agra, two other famous places to visit in India. You get to visit the Taj Mahal, City Palace, Mehrangarh Fort & Patwon ki Haveli, among other places. Sand bashing & post dinner cultural program in Jaisalmer will make your day! During the course of this luxury train tour, you will be enjoying the outstanding hospitality and excellent amenities onboard. The itinerary also includes accommodation in comfortable hotels, a tour guide, top notch security and sumptuous meals of your choice.
Itineraries
Day 1
Delhi to Agra: Mughal Magnificence!
Depart from Safdarjung Railway Station in the morning and enjoy a delightful lunch onboard as the journey begins. Upon reaching Agra, disembark to visit the Taj Mahal, a timeless wonder and UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Then, explore Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Akbar and serving as the Mughal emperors' residence until 1638, showcasing the grandeur of Mughal architecture.
After the tour, return to the train for a sumptuous dinner, followed by an overnight stay onboard. The train then departs for its next destination, Jaipur.
Day 2
Arrive at Jaipur-Jodhpur: Fabulous sightseeing awaits you!
Arrive in Jaipur in the morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast onboard. Afterward, deboard the train to explore the magnificent Amer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort houses numerous attractions, including Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khaas, and the stunning Sheesh Mahal. A light and sound show is also organized here to enhance the experience.
Next, visit the City Palace, built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, combining Rajput and Mughal architecture. The palace is home to spectacular structures such as Mubaraak Mahal and Maharani’s Palace.
Enjoy lunch at a hotel with day-use rooms, where you can rest or visit the Jantar Mantar, the famous astronomical observatory.
In the evening, head towards Chokhi Dhani for a traditional Rajasthani experience. This village-themed resort offers folk performances, local cuisine, and an immersive glimpse into rural Rajasthan.
Afterward, return to the train, which will depart for Jodhpur.
Day 3
Jodhpur-Jaisalmer: The sights & colors of Rajasthan!
The train arrives at Jodhpur in the morning. After enjoying your breakfast onboard, deboard the train to explore two of Jodhpur's iconic tourist attractions: Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada.
Mehrangarh Fort is a colossal masterpiece, rising almost 100 feet into the sky. Rudyard Kipling famously referred to it as “the work of giants.” The fort dominates Jodhpur's skyline and houses a museum known for being one of the best-preserved of its kind, offering a glimpse into the royal history of the region.
Next, visit Jaswant Thada, a stunning white marble memorial built in the late 19th century in honor of Maharaja Jaswant Singh. Its chhatris and jharokhas leave a lasting impression, and it hosts concerts during the Rajasthan International Folk Festival and the World Sacred Spirit Festival.
Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local hotel or restaurant. Post-lunch, explore the Local Market and Clock Tower, where you can shop for traditional handicrafts and experience the vibrant local culture.
Return to the train for a delicious dinner and overnight stay as the train departs for Jaisalmer.
Day 4
Jaisalmer: Wrapped in splendour!
Enjoy a delicious breakfast onboard, followed by disembarking the train to explore Jaisalmer’s popular tourist attractions: Jaisalmer Fort, Gadisar Lake, and Patwon ki Haveli.
Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the largest living forts in the world, where you can experience the bustling market and heritage sites inside the fort walls. Gadisar Lake, surrounded by temples and ghats, offers a peaceful and scenic environment, while Patwon ki Haveli showcases intricate architecture with stunning carvings and murals.
A delicious lunch awaits you at a local hotel, where you can relax and recharge.
In the afternoon, enjoy the thrilling adventure of dune bashing at Sam Sand Dunes. This action-packed activity will give you a taste of Rajasthan's desert landscapes. Afterward, enjoy a lovely dinner, followed by authentic cultural performances showcasing Rajasthani folk dance and music. Guests can also indulge in alcoholic beverages and drinks for a memorable experience.
Return to the train for an overnight stay as the train departs for Delhi.
Day 5
Delhi: The end of a lovely trip!
Breakfast is served onboard, followed by lunch later on in the afternoon. Deboard at Safdarjung Railway Station.
