‘Jewels of South’ is a 5-night, 6-day tour offered by The Golden Chariot. The itinerary encompasses major attractions in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The tour begins at the majestic Mysore Palace in Karnataka, followed by a visit to the ancient city of Kanchipuram, the World Heritage Site of the Shore Temple at Mahabalipuram, and the millennia-old Brihadeshwara Temple. The journey also includes a visit to an Athangudi tile factory and the exploration of Chettinad’s centuries-old, architecturally stunning mansions. Upon arrival in Kerala, the tour continues with a visit to the Mattancherry Palace-turned-museum, once the residence of the King of Cochin. Enjoy various classical dance performances, a visit to the centuries-old St. Francis Church, and a view of the Chinese fishing nets at Fort Cochin. Itineraries
Day 1
Saturday (Bengaluru to Mysore)
Registration and check-in begin at Yashwantpur Railway Station from 08:30 hrs. The train departs at 09:45 hrs. Guests will enjoy lunch on-board as the train arrives in Mysore at 14:15 hrs. At 15:00 hrs, guests will proceed to visit the majestic Mysore Palace. After exploring the palace, they return to the train as it heads towards Chengalpattu (CGL). A delightful dinner will be served on-board as the train continues its journey.
Day 2
Sunday (Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram)
Start the day with a delightful onboard breakfast as the train arrives at Chengalpattu Railway Station. Guests have the option for a forenoon excursion to Kanchipuram. After returning, enjoy a delicious lunch onboard. The afternoon includes a visit to the famous Mahabalipuram Monuments. Later, indulge in a delicious dinner at a beachfront hotel.
