Inside the complex is the Langar Hall, a community kitchen that serves free vegetarian meals to all, regardless of religion, caste, or background. Everyone sits together on the floor in rows (called Pangat), and over 40,000 people are fed daily—numbers often rising to over 100,000 on weekends and special days.
You will also visit the Jallianwala Bagh, a historic garden and memorial site infamous for the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre that occurred on 13 April 1919. In the late afternoon around 16:00 hrs, proceed to the Wagah Border, approximately 40 km from Amritsar. This is the last Indian border post before Pakistan. Here, you will witness the famous Beating Retreat Ceremony, a daily military practice carried out by soldiers of both India and Pakistan.
